Album lore
How To Destroy Angels’ eponymous debut EP emerged in mid-2010 under The Null Corporation, a label tied to Trent Reznor’s extended musical ventures. Comprising six tracks that straddle industrial rock and dark ambient textures, the EP was initially offered as a digital download before seeing staggered physical release across North America, Europe, and Japan throughout July and September of that year. The material, including the notably explicit “Fur Lined,” channels the mechanical pulse and brooding atmospheres familiar to followers of Reznor’s canon, yet reconfigured through the collaborative lens of How To Destroy Angels. The release appeared in multiple forms: a free mp3 version on the band’s website, higher-resolution FLAC and WAV files for purchase, and a physical CD identified as “Sigil 2” within the group’s internal cataloguing system. A vinyl edition followed, adorned with additional artwork linked to limited edition HTDA merchandise, marking the EP as a carefully curated artifact for collectors and aficionados. The instrumental CD-R promos circulated at the time further reveal the project’s layered construction, inviting closer inspection of its industrial and electronic lineage.
